Here are some ideas on how you can make your dream epoxy table:

1. Gather all the materials needed: In order to make a custom epoxy table, you will need wood for the base and top layers, as well as resin and hardener (preferably an alcohol-based). You will also need cups or containers for mixing your materials together, sandpaper, paintbrushes/rollers, stir sticks, a stirring spoon, a scotch brite pad, a hot glue gun, and a pallet knife.

2. Prepare your base layer of wood: Start by measuring the dimensions you would like your table to be, then cut each piece according to size with either a saw or jigsaw tool. Once finished, cut notches in corners if any other shaping is required. Once shaped, apply stain depending on what color you prefer. Finally, sand the surface so it is ready for customization.

3. Measure out the epoxy resin and hardener mixture for the table top surface according to their respective directions on the label of the product. Best practice here is a 2:1 mix of resin (A) to hardener (B), based on results from tests to find the ratio best suited. Use gloves while handling the product and keep a paper sheet handy for use sooner rather than later when things start getting messy. Alternatively, disposable plastic aprons can be worn.

4. Apply hardening agent and pour the mixture into the prepared wooden form, spreading evenly using a brush roller until it is fully cured. Allow at least a few hours and leave it overnight.

5. Spread a thin layer of epoxy. Mix another batch of appropriate A+B ratio, this time 10 drops may only cover up a 30×20 inch space. Follow the same steps and wear protective clothing such as a powder mask and goggles.

6. Remove Air Bubbles – Take a heat gun, turn it to the lowest setting, and carefully move it towards the bubbles. Going overtop of them allows the air to quickly pop. Repeat the process, making sure to check all areas.

7. Add Colorants: If opting to choose coloring agents, such as pigments, liquid acrylics, powdered mica, or Polyethylene terephthalate, dissolve accordingly to the instructions guide, dropping small amounts of them, pouring and spreading colored sections. Use a toothpick afterwards to gently swirl desired patterns. Allow the wheel to cure again for several degrees of cool before proceeding further. Pour clumps of additives, such as glitter, eco stone, or even crushed glass – anything else you wish – for the idea of creating art. Unlimited choice of options are available, so let your creativity run wild!
8. Attach legs or under structure: Screw posts underneath are the ideal way to bolt attach foundations, depending on the decision seen fit for bottom stabilization. Consequently, it will remain strong and intact, yet a restful sight to behold. Now, enjoy and admire the result. Custom built and unique enough to stand fond memories gathered around its glory.
